MBILEAGUE opened up the season with a championship rematch between the Manhattan Pride and Empire State Basketball. Though both are now in a new league the Rivalry continues to burn fierce. The two having many battles before but on this night Manhattan Pride would come away with the victory 78-71. The match-up for most of the night saw Empire State holding the lead early on, taking it all the way in to the end of the 3rd quarter 61-56. The fourth however would show a furious run by Pride which was spearheaded by Guard Prince Samuels who scored 12 of his team high 15 points in the 4th quarter. Forward Steven Grant hit a big 3 cutting the lead to 2 ,then a few plays later would tie the game at 65-65 with 7:02 left to play. Forward Rhydeem Samedi would score a basket to put the Pride ahead 67-75. Through out the reminder of the game the Pride made play after play to hold and extend the lead, one of biggest plays came under the 3 minute mark when Samuels put in an acrobatic And-1 play,all but seal the deal. The statistical leaders for the Pride were Prince Samuels with 15 points 6rebs, Rhydeem Samedi 12 and rookie Rudy Nerome with 10. Empire State were Lead by Nate Young 25 points 11 rebounds and Chima Hylton’s 15 points respectively.
