Prince Samuels Continues to show why he is considered by many as the best player in the league. Samuels dropped a Season and League high 40 points as he willed a short handed Pride team to a 89-87 double overtime victory against an ENY team that was in it till the end. The game was a battle throughout, neither team giving the other a break. They battled to a last second heave by Samuels at the end of regulation that led to the first overtime. A turn over by the Pride would lead to another last second heave by ENY’s Stan Hamp(13 points,6 rebounds, 4 assist) that wouldn’t connect leading to double overtime. In the final seconds a put back by Rhydeem Samedi(10 points,10 rebounds) would put the Pride up by 2 (89-87). Leading to a final possession which would see a wide open Dion Wilson(4 points,8 rebounds) miss the go ahead 3pt shot to help the Pride escape. Prince Samuels finished with the Stat Line of 40 points and 11 rebounds, shooting 6/11 from 3pt. Also contributing for the Pride were Fred Cadet(22 points,5 rebounds,5 assist,4 steals) and Winston Shaw (10 points). For ENY they were led by Brian “Blyte” Payne(19 points,5 rebounds,5 assist,4 steals), Tyrone Hall(12 points 4/8 from 3pt) Roki Familia(16 points,11 rebounds) and Dayvon Washington(16 points,13 rebounds). With the win the Pride Clinches a spot in the next round.
